Newsletters

Grimnes & Associates has seen first hand how an electronic newsletter has improved our site's visibility and external perception. While it is important to ensure you provide information that is useful or of interest to your audience in order to prevent your e-mailed newsletter from being deleted or ignored, if the information is relevant, a newsletter campaign can provide a valuable link between you and your customers to and can be a wonderful tool to market your services.

A simple, strategically placed button on your site and a few lines of code is all it takes to allow a current or prospective client to sign up for your newsletter. After this feature is installed you can choose to make your newsletter information available each day, week, month, or whenever you prefer. Links to each of the selected article(s) are added to a mass email, and within seconds you have provided valuable information directly to your visitor or client’s inbox.

Basic guidelines to follow when creating an Internet newsletter:
  • Keep it brief; no one wants to read 20 pages of material on your company, (and if they do- direct them to your site for extensive information, the newsletter is not the place to do it.)
  • Keep it consistent. Send each letter after a consistent period. Start out with a once a month issue and your newsletter is less likely to lose its appeal. If customers want the letter more often, then go to once a week, or a bi-monthly, etc.
  • Write for a general audience. Not everyone has the vocabulary that you and editors do. Use words that are easy-to-understand, and if you do use technical terms, provide a definition that people can relate to. There is nothing more frustrating then a definition that makes less sense than the word itself. (See section "Writing Tips" for more information on how to write your newsletter.)
  • Viral e-marketing may also offer recipients the opportunity to sign up friends, family or associates. This invitation should only be sent once and should refer to the third party.
When carefully executed, this type of "goodwill" lends credibility to your site as well as your organization. Grimnes and Associates can provide guidance and support in setting up this cost effective, value-added marketing service.
